Who is Ruff and Rugged? Well, in a human way, we’re Monica and Taysa — two women who became friends through a shared desire to connect with dogs on a deeper level. That journey began eight years ago.

In a not-so-human way, Ruff and Rugged is a space — an open, intentional space that honors the unique ways canines express themselves. And this space can only exist when there are boundaries. Yes, boundaries.

We chose the words “ruff” and “rugged” because they reflect the nature of your dog: resilient, forgiving, and ever-willing. Dogs don’t worry about how they look — they embrace the world head-on. When something is ruff, you don’t tiptoe around it; you step forward with boldness and confidence. When something is rugged, it can endure all terrains and challenges that come its way.

We’re here to help create those boundaries — to shape that space — offering the structure and guidance that ultimately grants your dog more freedom. Each boundary becomes an opportunity for a new behavior, a new response, a new way of engaging with the world.
